This Friday & Saturday, the long-running Glen Ridge Antiques Show will mark its 66th year at the Congregational Church in Glen Ridge.
Twenty-eight dealers in country and formal furniture and accessories will be arriving from four states to display their collections, many of them returning dealers. Among the new dealers this year will be Al Conti of "Vintage Matters" from Mt. Bethel, Pa., bringing unique and sometimes off-beat smalls among his desk items. Carol Petraglia, of Worldly Things in Ridgewood, will display country and primitives, boxes and metal ware.
The show opens on Friday, February 3, from 10am – 9pm and continues on Saturday from 10am – 4pm. Lunches, a Dinner and Tea Room desserts will be prepared by the Women's Association volunteers, who work for months to plan this showcase. This year's featured benevolence is Big Brothers Big Sisters of Morris, Bergen, Passaic and Sussex.
The bonus of a verbal appraisal service will be offered from 1 – 4 p.m. each day by John Robert Clark of Egg Harbor Township. The nominal fee of $4 per portable item will be charged for this service.
